Fall walk on the beach

We took Brady and Kyla on a gorgeous fall walk this Sunday to Morse Mountain in Phippsburg, Maine. Seriously, we could not have asked for a more spectacular day. It was a peaceful 2 mile walk through the woods to an untouched beach. It was beautiful and the kids could have run for miles. We were able to capture this precious moment with the two of them.

Brady is 4

Brady is four and couldn't be more proud if it. He's growing so fast and full of adventure, love, fun and energy. The pictures show the pride in his face after receiving a medal for his last soccer game while the others show him enjoying the sunset on his birthday hike at Bradbury Mountain and his adorable sweet pirate face for Halloween. Brady you are a great friend to all in your life, a loving brother and a wonderful son. We are so proud of the little man that you've become. Happy Birthday Brady William, you are loved.

The Harvie Trailblazers

Sugarloaf family weekend

Bryan and I took Brady and Kyla to Sugarloaf for the long weekend. It was a much needed mini-vacation for the family. The weather was perfect, the air was fresh and crisp, everything was green and there wasn't a cloud in the bright blue sky. We had many adventures starting with a hike along to the spectacular Poplar Stream Falls trail and up to the hut on the Maine Huts and Trails for lunch. The falls were beatiful and the trails were just as spectacular. Later in the day after a much needed rest for our adventurous children, we made our way up to Sugarloaf Mtn where Brady kept asking where the snow was so he could ski. The next day it was an early start for what we thought would be a quick stroll down the Narrow Gauge Trail. Joke was on us. Brady and Kyla picked up everything they could find, touched everything that looked new and even a little skinny dippin in the Carrabasset (for the kids of course). What an adventure. Bryan and I felt so proud and so very happy to be there. We loved the trails and rested peacefully at Mambo. We will be looking forward to the next time up hopefully with the rest of the family. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, Sugarloaf/Mambo continues to be such an important part of our lives.

Family hike

A beautiful friday in Maine. Bryan and I took the kids on a lovely hike to Mt. Agamenticus in Wells, Maine. They are both so adventurous and even Kyla followed her brother closely most of the hike, often telling us how she wants to do it herself. What a great way to spend time with the family.

Brady's bed is now Kyla's bed

After a very long attempt of patiently trying to talk Kyla into staying in her new bed and not getting out, we finally take a deep breath realizing it's silent, YES they both must finally be asleep. We walk in to check on them only to find this...Kyla asleep on her brothers bed. Sibling love at its purest.

Kyla's new bed

A few pics of Kyla so happy to be in her new bed. It was a sad moment for Bryan and I taking down their crib. Just 4 years ago we were putting that crib up for the first time. Where does time go. Building their room now will be lots of fun (little by little) as we try to bring in a peice of both their personalities in to a room they can feel comfortable in. Its no longer "the babies room" it's Brady and Kyla's room.

Kyla says, "Thank you Grandma....thank you for my new bed!"

Tumbledown Mountain

Moments like these just take your breath away. They give you the chance to appreciate your life, your health and the beautiful earth that we live on. Bryan and I spent a day with some of my co-workers to hike Tubledown Mountain in Weld, Maine. It was beautiful, challeneging and fun to say the least. We hiked through the woods and then rested at the top near this peaceful pond. Get out and love the outdoors, it's a special place.

Blue Rocket

Brady loves his new bike, even though it took him a few weeks to really like it (i.e. he was a afraid of it)

We took him for a bike ride and he was so proud. He even had a little Harvie competitive spirit shine through when he tried to race another boy who was riding his bike. The other boy won since Brady ended up in the bushes and on his booty. It was priceless!

off fishin with da guys

Brady and Alden off for a weekend with Pappy. He left saying he wasn't going to catch a fish he was going to catch a salmon. He came back to 'say, I didn't catch anything but that's okay, I had fun. By the few photos below it looks like they had a great time...riding the 6-wheeler, eating anything with sugar or red dye#5, even caught a snooze on the back of the four wheeler. Looks like he even ate a smelt.

Boys will be boys~

We're ready for Spring!

Our first family outing around back cove in Portland. It was a lovely day our first one of the year. Brady and Kyla had a blast just to be out in the open able to run and laugh. I think Brady ran close to a 1/4 of a mile. While Kyla was fasinated with the water and the birds. We just won't tell anyone that we jumped the fence so the kids could play in the playground. That's okay right?

Tone def - Kreggie style

The newest, and I must say, greatest game (of many) Nikki has created in her lifetime. "Tone def" aka i-pod karaoke. The entertainer wears the headphones while the rest of the crowd sits back and laughs, a lot.

Future American Idol

Okay so this is just too cute to not share. Brady was listening to his favorite song and decided to really get into the moment. He pulled out his guitar to play and sing for me what he calls, Parachute (In the Middle by Mat Kearney). He thinks he has a future as a rock star.....you be the judge.

'lil skiers

What a trip to Sugarloaf with the whole Harvie family. What started as a big adventure, turned into an unforgettable memory, one that will bring smiles to our faces and remind us years to come how fortunate we are. The kids were amazing, laughter everywhere. They were anxious to hit the slopes and be "the best skier of them all". There is no competitive blood what so ever in these children. Click play on the slide show below to enjoy a few pics.
