Brady is 5!

Today marks the final celebration of your 5th birthday Brady. After three parties and way too many presents, tonight I tucked you in bed and laid beside you to read the story of the night you were born. You intently listed to every word reminiscing on the excitement of that night. It put a big smile on my face as I read to you the detail of the drive to the hospital. Daddy and I laughed and giggled with anticipation all the way in. You chuckled when I told you that Daddy had a lollipop in his mouth when we checked in with the nurses. And you smiled so gently
when I shared with you the detail of the love that surrounded us that night.
Brady William, you make me so proud. In just five short years you've learned to walk, talk, fish, sing, laugh, ride a bike, camp, explore the great Maine woods, throw a baseball like no other 5 year old I know, boy can you run, ski Tote Road at the loaf with a huge smile on your face, eat M&M's and ice cream like its the first time every time, you know how to love and be loved, and best of all you are the best brother Kyla could ever have and the best son that Daddy and I could have every asked for. I love watching you grow!

Homemade Birthday cards are the best

Two bright, smiling, happy, faces greeted me this morning with a birthday hug and a beautiful card.

Brady is taking me on a cruise ship on one side and apple picking as a family on the other...if only one of those would come true :)

"new friends"

We brought the kids to Morse Mountain on Saturday. It was a glorious late summer day, perfect weather. This place is quickly becoming our favorite destination. On this particular trip we met a co-worker of mine and his family there. Instantly the kids played, raced, climbed, explored and asked each other if they could be "new friends." As soon as we reached the beach into the bathing suits they went then straight to the ocean where they raced the waves, pretended to be surfing and searched for sand dollars.

Fathers Day 2010

Here we are in all our glory.
Together we laughed, explored the great Maine woods
and splashed in the brisk Carrabasset River.
Couldn't ask for a better way to spend time with the Dad's.
We build great memories!

"Spring is here said the bumblebee..

...how do you know said the old oak tree? I just saw a daffodil, danicing with the fairies on a windy hill." Brady and Kyla's new favorite jingle

Nice pic from our first family hike of the season.
